at St. Scholastica & St. John & St. Benedict. God Bless!!
Bulletin
**Karen Odenthal will be doing all bulletin work. St. John & St.Scholastica's bulletin will be one in the same.
**The "Greater Faith Community Bulletin" is coming soon also. This is a regional bulletin with an insert of our newly combined bulletin included.
Nancy Unger: St. John & St. Ben's parishoners THANKS YOU for your years of service in doing the bulletin!!!!!
Misselettes
**Currently we are using 2 different misselettes types during masses between the 2 churches.
**In Advent 2011 all the new Vatican Mass changes will be taking affect. This will give our "new" parish a chance to get on the same page with worship materials. (If you have heard NOTHING of these changes to our Catholic Mass PLEASE look into it.)

Liturgy Changes
Father Dave wants ALL mass volunteers to be completely comfortable at either church when volunteering. This will take time and practice but is optimistically attainable!!
As the year goes on and we all learn from one another there will be a mass volunteer meeting about the liturgy. If you have questions or comments please keep track of them or share them with Father Dave, Deacon Bob, Amy Lemke, or Karen Odenthal.
**New liturgy sign up sheets for St. Scholastica volunteers are coming soon
**St. John volunteers - please fill out a new sheet if you haven't in Jan '11, your options have changed
**Lectors we will be doing the same at all masses as directed by Father Dave.
STARTING JANUARY 22nd & 23rd the Lector MUST CHECK IN with Father Dave
Responsible for reading the 1st & 2nd reading, then starting the Prayer for Vocations RIGHT after communion. Father Dave will be saying the petitions and announcements. We no longer have to do this.
**Eucharistic Ministers there is no change at this time. We will revisit this position after Father Dave is learning the ropes with all the changes going on. Feel free to discuss any questions with Father!
Please Note: The proper term, just recently established as of the new GIRM (General Instruction of the Roman Missal) is "Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist". This is to distinguish the laity from the “Ordinary Ministers of the Eucharist” who are made up of bishops, priests, and deacons.
**Servers, The servers lead the gift bearers for 10am Sunday Mass.
Server Training is Apr 9th & 10th, 2011 - watch bulletin for information.
Father Dave will be doing an "already a server" training to get the older servers on the same page for both churches. Then any 3rd grader and older from either church will be trained in by the experienced servers. ANY questions can be asked of Father Dave by calling or emailing him!
**Ushers/Greeters/Bell Ringers, both churches are asked to have the church bells sound before masses are to begin. PLEASE SAY A FRIENDLY HELLO TO THOSE ENTERING THE CHURCH!!
**This is NOT scheduled position as of now, but Father Dave & Deacon Bob are asking for the ushers to take a bigger part in the mass celebration. Questions are well received!
**Gift Bearers:
St.Scholastica will keep their rotation going as is.
Saturday 8:15pm will be the same as it has been. (Father Dave will ask someone as they come into church.)
10am Mass @ St. John will include gift bearers as of 5/15/11
If interested in being part of the gift bearer rotation-
OR fill out a yellow volunteer sheet found in the back of church
