TLCC
Transitional Leadership Coordinating Committee

View the final Document of the work by the TLCC group:
This was also in paper form of a Merger Flyer in the back of the churches.

If you have questions about any of this, do not hesitate to speak to:
Deacob Bob Wagner, Diane Weckmen, Jack Stasney,
Carol Weiers, Kevin Giesen or Brian Rynda

STEP 1:  A Transition Committee is appointed.  (from St. John bulletin 11/7/10)

STEP 2:  First 14 Decisions are announced.  (from St. John bulletin 12/5/10)
Click here to find the first major decisions with explanations.  These include:
St. Ben's last mass, registration of St. Ben's parishioners, a parish priest, new mass times, parish envelopes, new trustees, new parish name, new parish finance and pastoral councils, operating as a cluster, checking/savings accounts and budget plans of St. John/St. Scholastica/St. Benedict, and sacramental record keeping

STEP 3:  Cemetery Decisions  (information coming)
Meeting agendas of the TLCC will include operation of the cemeteries within the merger (structure will probably resemble that of the overall structure of the parish finance council/sub-councils and parish pastoral councils/sub-councils).

STEP 4:  Final meeting of the Transition Leadership  (from St. John bulletin 12/19/10)
The TLCC met for the last time on Thursday, December 9th. This past Thursday was significant as the trustees of St. Benedict, St. John, St. Scholastica, St. Joseph, and, St. Wenceslaus signed all the legal papers needed to incorporate the new parish into existence come January 1.
If you get a chance, please thank these very dedicated people who contributed so much time, wisdom and influence over the past month, especially Diane Weckman, Jack Stasney, Kevin Giesen, and Carol Weiers.

Where do we go from here?
On January 8th and 9th, Fr. Kevin will be celebrating Masses with us.
On January 16th we will celebrate the last Sunday Mass at St. Benedict. (We have started some preliminary plans for that very special Mass, more will follow in the coming weeks.) Following that last Mass, those sacred objects that are especially dear to the parishioners of St. Benedict will begin to be transferred to the churches of St. John and St. Scholastica. January 22nd and 23rd the new Mass schedule will be Saturday 8:15 pm Mass at St. John, Sunday 8 am Mass at St. Scholastica, and Sunday 10 am Mass at St. John. Over that weekend and the next, Fr. Dave will solemnly dedicate and bless those sacred objects brought from St. Benedict at the Masses.
In February 2011:  The work of the new parish pastoral council and the new parish finance council representing St. Scholastica, St. Benedict, and St. John will begin to meet.
